"First and foremost, let me make it clear, there is a chain of events why I am leaving this review, and it’s not all just this office, but it’s more so the practices of Statefarm as a whole. We were recently informed that my auto policies, 4 vehicles, were going to start being canceled this month and next month. Upon contacting Christy Winters office, no one could tell why except for that we were reported as high risk for too many claims. Three of our claims in the last two years were comp for our windshields, which was included in my policies. And two were comp due to a deer running into the side of my truck, and a meth head hitting my wifes parked car. So I couldn’t understand why we were being reported as high risk when these were all incidents that were not our fault. And the office couldn’t get anyone to look into the matter either. Finally, one day I received a call back from the company who was responsible for our consumer reports, named LexisNexis. Be advised, this company sells your consumer reports without verifying anything on it for accuracy. Something that you can opt out of here in Indiana. Anyways, the lady that returned my call informed me that the two incidents involving my truck and deer, and my wife’s totaled car, were reported as “our fault”. I asked her how that was possible, did they even read the claim? While I was on the phone with her, she pulled up the claims, and low and behold, there was an issue. The claims, reported to them, from State Farm, which State Farm then pays LexisNexis for your consumer report, had two huge errors on them due to someone’s negligence at State Farm. Apparently, on both incidents, the boxes for at fault were left blank. When this happens, apparently it is common practice for Lexi’s Nexus to report this has,”at fault”, which is dirty in my opinion, and lazy and causes inaccuracies to be reported. So, in the meantime, I’m scrambling to find coverage for our vehicles, and I’m getting turned down because of State Farm’s negligence, and the lazy people at LexisNexis for assuming these incidents were our fault. Upon contacting Christy Winters office with the reported mistakes, all I’m told is that they can’t help me, I have to call claims department. The office wouldn’t even give me the number to claims. Basically I feel like I know where the negligence stemmed from, someone in this office! I called LexisNexis back and was told that they could put a security freeze on my report, since the inaccuracy’s were partially their fault, and I opted out from them being able to sell my future reports. Once that was taken care of, I finally got a very nice woman in the claims department to hear my story, and found the claims where the mistakes were made, and she corrected them. Not only did she correct the claims, but also emailed me letters while I was on the phone with her stating that the incidents were not our fault. Which helped immensely to secure insurance with a great agency. It makes me mad that they can take my money every month, which I pay them for a service, but when it comes times that I need that service, such negligence is at work through their paper trails. And then not to help me find it, and fix it, this is why I pulled my vehicles, my home, and my property insurance, and I am currently talking to a lawyer for all the trouble they did to my credit with their inaccuracies. Be aware, just because they are nice and pleasant, doesn’t mean they are good at their job!"
